Tamara Fox Bullock
Level IV Century Pilates Apprentice
Vbarre, Century Pilates Instructor Training Apprentice
Tamara is our favorite girl next door, literally, she lives minutes away from the studio! Raised in Pineville, Louisiana, Tam moved to DFWTX in 2015 after graduating college. She has over 8 years of experience in the movement industry paired with a lifetime of dancing as a hobby. Tamara received her bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Northwestern State University Louisiana; she also boasts a degree in cosmetology and has been licensed in Louisiana since 2013. Tam is currently enrolled in the strenuous Summer/Fall 2022 ‘Intensive’ 300 hour Century Pilates Level I & Level II Instructor Program under the mentorship of, Emily Urbanosky Wills. She is also certified in the globally recognized Vbarre method, under the guidance of Veronica Combs, creator, and master instructor Stormi Truesdell, which blends the body sculpting power of ballet with the resistance strength training of Pilates.
While enrolled at NSULA, Tam took a semester of Pilates Mat under the guidance of Kirstin Riehl, Professor and now Director of Dance. Since that time, an ember burned to learn more and find a studio with Pilates equipment so she could begin honing her craft. In 2018, Tam took her first barre class one year postpartum; she enjoyed it alongside aerial and pole fitness as a total body conditioning system. Tam discovered Century Pilates in November 2021, and was immediately embraced into the ongoing education and movement modality certifications offered. She has always believed a balanced fitness regimen would help her in achieving uniformed strength and alignment to her already flexible form.
Tam says she loves Pilates and Vbarre group classes because to her, they are the most motivational and enjoyable—“everybody truly benefits from them!” Tam is impassioned with blending the posture-improving benefits of Pilates, which corrected and strengthened her body after two babies, with the musically upbeat vibe of Vbarre. She admits, like many of us, that it can be hard to be motivated to regularly practice modalities that focus on strength training, stamina, or cardio, but Pilates & Vbarre ignited a passion in her to pursue a certification in both.
Tamara manages a household of introverts with her loving husband Barry. She is a full-time caregiver to their two young children, and their family includes 4 cats—Yuki, Niles, Frasier, & Odin. For the first time in 5 years, Tam is learning to sprinkle in work outside of her home as a Clean Beauty Advocate and Senior Consultant for Beautycounter. Little known facts about Tam include her interest in sustainable living, her love of herbs, flowers, and aromatherapy; and that she gratefully received 1 of 25 Beautycounter Impact Scholarships in March 2022. Some of Tam’s favorite hobbies include flexing her creativity in mixed-media crafts and fine-tuning her skills in Pole and Aerial fitness. When she’s not cuddling cats and birdwatching, she is likely playing in her garden with her family.
Tam has a presence that brightens any room. She has a gentle assertiveness about her that garners trust and an effortless feeling of kinship. For Tam, it’s important that her students find confidence, awareness, and appreciation for their body. She hopes that from each class, participants gain an inner narrative of positive affirmations on what their body is capable of achieving.
