Please take the time to familiarize yourself with our studios policies & procedures.
We may run a tight ship, but we are still the fun bus!
After several years in the biz, we know what helps a studio run smoothly.
Please reach us at Owner@centurypilates.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We don't like keeping cash or checks on hand. We can't guarantee we will have change for you and we don't have a way to keep up with it. We also can't enforce our cancelation policy or effectively draft monthly memberships without a card on file. They good news is you can keep multiple cards on file and update as needed from your app. This policy is strictly enforced.
We want you to be safe & we are committed to setting our students up for success. Our semi private group classes have a maximum of 3 attendees. Group classes are faster paced & require you to have a strong classical foundation of strength, basic understanding of Pilates principles & exhibit proficiency in exercise recall, setup, & classical transitions. It is mandatory that group class participants do not have underlying limitations that will require a great deal of modifications or disproportionately allocate the instructors attention to their students ongoing needs. Century Pilates reserves the right to deny group class to certain students we feel are not well suited for it regardless of their history with Pilates group classes at other studios.
Private, duet, & semi private group classes are always 50-55 minutes. By special request we can offer longer $185, 90-minute private lessons for those who want a more intense workout. We do not offer 30 minute private/duet lessons or semi private group classes.
In general 8:30am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, but in truth, the nature of our business is 'by appointment' only. We are open during our appointments & do not take drop ins, however, if you contact the studio same day & confirm an opening with instructor staff, you will be able to book a private lesson same day.
We can teach you private training whenever your availability aligns with your instructors. Our building is locked 8pm-8am weekdays and all day Saturday & Sunday so you will need to meet your instructor at the designated doors to let you in on the days our building is locked.
Our instructors are career professionals and they invest in you just as much as you invest in yourself. When they have a booking, it's their job to be there, just like it's your job to show up. We understand that life happens, but we strictly enforce cancelations to respect our instructors time. It gives them 24 hours to find a replacement, pull a client off a waitlist or you can send someone in your place. Cancelation within 24 hours of your booking results in a loss of credit.
When you book a lesson with us, we give you 55 minutes of undivided attention. If you are 15 or 20 minutes late, we cannot extend the time you have blocked off with us.
"Free" is a red flag for cheap, not just in price, but in quality and we aren't cheap. Our instructors are the REAL DEAL. They have at minimum, a 600 hour comprehensive education and several of us have 2-3 certifications that took years to complete. You get what you pay for here. You invest with us, we invest right back into you.
A pilates studio can pose dangers to unattended children. For your child's safety and out of respect for other patrons we ask that you make child care arrangements. We do understand that life happens and sometimes sitters fall through. We do not have daycare services in our building. This policy is strictly enforced.
We do not have front desk staff, but we always love for qualified, certified classical Pilates instructors from reputable lineage based training programs to feel like they have a home with us at Century Pilates. Please note 500 & 600 hour comprehensive training required for consideration or a full classical Pilates Mat certification.
Century Pilates Instructor Training got its start in Arlington, TX in 2021 and is now headquartered right here in Midland, TX after creator & Master Instructor, Emily Urbanosky Wills relocated back to West Texas in 2023 with her husband, Grant.
If you've ever thought of becoming a classical Pilates instructor you've come to the right place. We are the real deal & and our graduates are sought after career professionals. You can click the link in the header for our Teacher Training website to apply & turn your passion into a lifestyle.
We are an authorized training center for 3rd generation classical Pilates education which means you'll frequently spot our trainees obtaining their 600 mandatory hours to complete their 8 month apprenticeships. We also regularly host acclaimed Pilates educators from around the world for special educational seminars & events. Our studio is bustling with instructors passionate about continued education.
No but we do offer imported glass bottled still water brands like Ty Nant or Acqua Panna, or Fiji, averaging $3-$6 per bottle.
No but we do offer cold wet chilled spa towels found in our cold towel refrigerator you can easy refresh with.
We are not a gym. Our studio is furnished with unique apparatus & all sessions are instructor led. We are highly niche personal trainers & movement professionals. The minimum investment for a instructor to make on only one quality 500-600 hour classical apprenticeship ranges from $6,500- $12,000, and several of us have pursued multiple certifications. Some classical apprenticeships average 8 months to 2 years to complete. Our staff are not hobby enthusiasts, but instead experts in the field. You're in VERY qualified hands. To add to this point, Pilates equipment, especially the customized classical variety, like ours, is a studios greatest asset and an investment to be sure. You get what you pay for & high quality is our top priority.
We do not issue refunds. This policy is strictly enforced. In addition, please make plans to use your credits before their expiration date.
We sure do. We have well appointed bathrooms down the hall too.
No. Never. We only need this info to let you know if we need to make any impending schedule changes, or if either you or the instructor is running late. You definitely want to opt in to SMS to stay in the loop.
We have a dress code for a few reasons and chiefly out of respect for our studios greatest asset, our Pilates equipment. We ask that all participants come dressed in athleisure clothes free from buttons or zippers that can tear our upholstery.
Womens Dress Code: All shorts and skorts must be lined and fly away running shorts are not permitted. Many movements require open legs so ask yourself if that's really the position you want to put yourself in. Leggings, tight shorts, and bodysuits are ideal. Sport bras with no shirt is fine. See through fabrics may be done in good taste.
Mens Dress Code: We want it all tucked away so please wear tight fitting compression shorts or at minimum lined shorts design for fitness. If you are a sweater, we recommend a long sleeve surf style shirt and joggers under your shorts to minimize slipping. A shirt is permitted at all times unless you have washboard abs... just kidding, keep your shirt on. We're all married up here.
Not really and there's many safety considerations that supports our reasoning why, but we leave it up to you. Barefoot is preferred.
That's a hard no! We do not permit the recording of any kind in our studio as it's a violation to our patrons privacy and our professional instructor staffs intellectual property. Thank you for understanding.
Most definitely. We love when our students want to share their love of Pilates with their friends and family for special events. For attendees in excess of 3+, group fitness options are limited to group Mat work. Century Pilates can also provide tableware for an additional fee because, as it turns out, we love entertaining too! Email us.
Ugh....... sucks we even have to say it...
If we aren't a good fit for each other, that's okay.
